Words ending with “ -s ” normally pronounce with three different ways as follow:

1.     We sound /z/ when the word is ended with “ -b, -d, -g, -l, -m,- n, -ng, -r, -v, -y, -the, and -vowel sound”

Examples:  


Crabs
Cards
Bags
Calls
Dreams
Pens
Televisions
Phones
Kings
Cars 
Computers
Hamburgers
Wives
Cameras


2.    We sound /s/ when the word is ended with “ p, k, t, f, ph, th”

Examples:  


Cups
Books
Students
cliffs
Photographs
Months


3.    We sound /iz/ when the word is ended with “ -c, -s, -ch, -sh, -x, -z, 

Examples:


Races
Buses
Sandwiches
Dishes
